Garret Anderson, Angels Franchise Hits Leader, Dies at 53

Garret Anderson, the former Los Angeles Angels star and franchise hits leader, has died at the age of 53 following a sudden medical emergency at his home in Newport Beach. Anderson was a key part of the Angels' 2002 World Series championship team and built a strong MLB career marked by consistent offensive production.

Anderson spent his entire 17-year MLB career with the Angels, becoming the franchise's all-time leader in hits, runs batted in, and total bases. He was a three-time All-Star and won the Silver Slugger award in 2003. After retiring in 2010, Anderson worked as a television analyst and was inducted into the Angels Hall of Fame in 2016.

The cause of Anderson's death has not been officially disclosed, but the team confirmed that he passed away following a medical emergency at his residence. The Angels organization released a statement expressing their profound sadness at the loss of a beloved player who made immense contributions to the team's success over the years.
