Fitzpatrick Edges Scheffler in Dramatic Heritage Playoff
1 min read

England's Matt Fitzpatrick claimed his second PGA Tour title in a month, defeating world number one Scottie Scheffler in a playoff at the RBC Heritage. Fitzpatrick, who won the 2022 U.S. Open, fended off a late charge from Scheffler to secure the victory at Harbour Town Golf Links.
The final round saw Fitzpatrick hold a comfortable lead, but a late wobble left the door open for Scheffler to force a playoff. In the extra hole, Fitzpatrick delivered under pressure, edging out the reigning Masters champion to claim his second title at the RBC Heritage.
The win marks Fitzpatrick's third PGA Tour victory overall and his second in just over a month, cementing his status as one of the rising stars on the tour. The 28-year-old Englishman continues to build on his breakout season, which included his first major championship triumph at the U.S. Open last year.
