Deadly Missile Barrage Hits Ukraine as Russia Intensifies Attacks
1 min read
A devastating missile and drone assault on Ukraine has left at least 14 people dead and dozens more injured, officials reported. Russia launched a barrage of 31 missiles and 636 drones in the latest wave of attacks, shattering windows and setting cars ablaze across the country.
The strikes targeted critical infrastructure, including energy facilities, plunging many areas into darkness and disrupting water supplies. Kyiv, the capital, was among the hardest-hit regions, with authorities reporting explosions and fires in several districts.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy condemned the attacks as a deliberate attempt to terrorize the civilian population. "This is the evil that must be stopped," he said in a video address, vowing to hold Russia accountable for the "war crimes" committed.
The relentless bombardment comes as Ukraine prepares for a major counteroffensive to reclaim territory occupied by Russian forces. Analysts say the attacks are likely a bid by Moscow to demoralize the Ukrainian people and undermine their resolve in the face of the ongoing conflict.
