Berlin Conference Aims to Address Forgotten Conflict in Sudan
1 min read

Berlin is hosting a conference of international donors this week, with the goal of addressing the ongoing and often overlooked conflict in Sudan. The war in the country has been raging for the past three years, with no ceasefire in sight, leaving the people caught in the middle facing immense suffering.
The conflict in Sudan has received little global attention compared to other crises, but the situation on the ground remains dire. Fighting between government forces and rebel groups has displaced millions, with widespread reports of human rights abuses and a worsening humanitarian crisis. Aid organizations have struggled to reach those most in need, hampered by the ongoing violence and lack of access.
Participants at the Berlin conference hope to change that. By bringing together representatives from various nations and aid groups, the organizers aim to secure new commitments of financial and logistical support to alleviate the suffering of Sudanese civilians. The conference will also seek to facilitate dialogue between the warring parties, in the hopes of paving the way for a lasting ceasefire and political solution to the conflict.
